One of The tallest buildings which I have designed in my experience.
G+ 8 structures which has a massing concept of Egyptian pylon.
The bottom portion of the grass wall which is tapering towards the top portion which resembles the pylon (entrance gate).
Above the pylon structure we have a long white beam which is carrying the emblem of SRM University and the name of the building which would give a clear view to the public.
The white color long beam which was supported by two brackets in greyish color resembles the olden palace doors locking system.
The entrance porch has a cantilevered canopy structure which is supported by tensile cables.
All around the sides of the building has balcony projections and in that balcony we have a landscaped trees which gives a visual compliment who views inside the building.
This resembles the traditional way of studying under the trees (Gurukula Kalvi).
The windows are arranged in a rhythmic manner. The top most part of the building have head room which is having a curved slab for a projected and emphasized elevation.
On roof top we have solar panels to generate the electricity and solar water heater to give the hot water inside the building.
A small urban plaza which reacts as a private communal space and interactive space for students as well as staffs. This would give a pleasant atmosphere to the campus.
The water fountain also have added value to the campus as well as to the building.
All around the building pathways and rain water harvesting system.
The massive green wall gives profitable thermal cooling systems inside the building and also the mud compressed block which was used in this building gives a cooling effect inside the building which will reduce the electricity through AC and fan.
The exposed mud compressed blocks need not be plastered which gives reduction of cost. The mud compressed block which can be manufactured on the site with the soil digging for the pile foundation. So there is no wastage of soil. The SBC is the most important point which we have to consider.
The national flag was kept in front of the building to give the parlimental approach and respect to the college.
